Probably a bit late this update, but what the hell.
Welcome to Lancaster University Cycling Club, the only club or society dedicated to bikes on campus.
We meet every Wednesday outside the library at 2pm. We welcome people of all abilities so come along and say hi.
We will also be at the Freshers Fair on the 06/10/11 on the Nuffield Theatre where you can join up. Remember though you will need a purple card!!
See you soon

03/04/2010 - BUCS 10 Mile TT Championships
24th April is the date for the BUCS 10 Mile TT Championships in Cambridge. At the moment we are 3-4 people doing it, but we would of course love it if as many as possible would represent the club.
Here is the link for the event: http://www.bucs.org.uk/page.asp?section=14737§ionTitle=10+Mile+TT+Championships
If you are interested, you have to send the 'Entry form' together with the 'Eligibilty form' so the organiser receives it by 13th April. This is very important!
Also important is that the 'Eligibility form' is signed by the LUSU Sports Coordinator. If you're in Lancaster, then you can just pop by the LUSU building and get it done yourself. If you're away however, you'll have to post it to Jason ASAP who will sort it out for you. Please Facebook him or give him a text/ring on 07954 322610 for further details!
We will rent an automobile of some kind depending on how many who are going, so please take contact swiftly if you're interested.

29/10/2009 - New Exec
2 new exec positions have been opened up. The club now has 80 members ... with socials, trips, rides being regular now there is quite a bit of planning to do to keep the club up to date so these 2 new exec members will just be helping out with general running of the club both on and off rides.
currently just called "ride leaders" but might be changed to health and safety officer and soemthing else. its just a name to call you by, and get you into the club exec so you learn how things are done.
if you are interested in a position you need to have a good knowledge of the Lancaster area and have shown interst in the club by attending rides and what not. Email or speak to one of us if you want to apply, we will set some kind of vote system if a few of you apply for the 2 positions.

16/10/2009 - First Social
It was a great turn out and interesting to get to know people better. Killer darts was a laugh, never played it with so many people and the guys who went into town continued the night with a band in Elements and some Mamma Mia grub, they even gave us a free garlick bread... winner!

The ride went well, managed 26 miles in 1hour 40mins and the weather was perfect. Only me, john, and george turned up, i guess people are still trying out new sports and getting settled into their time tables so hopefully a better turn out next weekend :)
